Chrysanthemum Oval Platter

Oval porcelain platters decorated in the chrysanthemum motif. Each platter is etched completely by hand and filled in with pigmented clay. The traditional chrysanthemum motif symbolizes the possibility of triumph in tough times and a reminder to be brave in the face of adversity. These lessons taken together form a larger message of longevity. The chrysanthemum motif is surrounded by a traditional fret motif that represents infinite wealth.

Etching this symbol of resilience has been a healing practice for me and is one of the most labor-intensive pieces made for Monsoon Pottery.

Measures approximately 11-3/4” in length, 8-1/2” wide, and 1” tall.
