Are your glazes food safe? What about in the microwave or dishwasher?
We use only food safe glazes and all pieces are microwave and dishwasher safe. Monsoon Pottery is even oven safe—just avoid thermal shock. i.e. Don’t move a plate that’s been sitting in the freezer into a hot oven.
The only exception to this is our pieces that are finished in gold luster. The gold is real and therefore cannot be placed in the microwave. We encourage you to hand wash these pieces to avoid any dishwasher tarnishing of the gold finish that could occur over time.
When will my order arrive?
All orders are shipped from our West Town Studio in Chicago, IL. All online orders are currently scheduled for pickup on Fridays. The bulk of our orders ship via UPS which typically takes between 1-4 days within the continental US.
Shoppers within the Chicagoland area can choose Local Pickup and schedule a pickup times on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

How does Local Pickup work?
You may select Local Pickup at checkout for Wednesday or Saturday curbside pickup at our West Town studio in Chicago. Select Pickup as your delivery option at checkout and you will receive a confirmation email. Within 24 hours you will receive a follow-up email that will allow you to choose a pickup time between 12-6pm on any upcoming Wednesday or 1-5pm on any upcoming Saturday. If you do not show up for your pickup and do not contact me I will ship your order at my earliest convenience and invoice you for shipping (Sorry this is such a hard line! A few flakey people always ruin things for the fastidious among us).
Do you ship internationally?
Yes! Our online store is only set up to estimate shipping costs within the United States; however, we do ship internationally. Please contact us with what you’d like to purchase along with your international address and we will create an invoice for you. Buyers are responsible for all international shipping costs.
I DMed you about something on Instagram, why haven’t you responded?
If you have an inquiry about a collaboration, event, special project, or any other business inquiry, you should write it in our contact page. I do not conduct business over DM.
Do you accept commissions?
We are not accepting commission at this time.
Do you do wholesale?
We assess wholesale orders on a case-by-case basis. Monsoon Pottery currently does not use any mass production techniques. Because of that, we’re not able to offer the 50% discounts to which Wholesale Accounts are accustomed and remain profitable ourselves.
Do you work with restaurants?
Yes! We love working with restaurants and have a $2,500 minimum on orders that includes a 50% retainer. We do not offer discounts on restaurant orders unless they exceed $8,000. Restaurant orders take a minimum of 8 weeks to finish.
