Celadon Large Oval Platter

Slump molded porcelain large oval platters glazed in celadon. Since these pieces were fired in a reduction kiln, the reduced oxygen atmosphere doesn't always reach every surface of the piece. These pieces have a mix of celadon's signature jade look and an oxygen-rich response, which is the amber you see. Only two available and not reproducible. 

Platter measures 12” long, 9” wide, and 1/2” tall.

Microwave and dishwasher safe. The underside of the plates are unglazed. While staining is unlikely on the unglazed region, regular washing (especially in the dishwasher) will keep them pristine. Made in Chicago.
